“A Certain Light”, Mark LaRiviere’s solo show at Thompson & Giroux Gallery, combines paintings done years ago with current sculpture. The work is a continuation in Mark’s investigation on making images with a variety of materials that embody a sense of form, a sense of scale, and a sense of color to evoke a sense of being. Mark LaRiviere’s work is figurative, he makes art that represents who we are, our current state as people in today’s culture. Finding new solutions to create work that depicts our existential place on the planet.
